ELEMENTS OF CREATIVE ADVERTISING

Welcome to the introduction of fundamentals of advertising message design and content production for traditional and new media. Students will focus on characteristics of effective messages across media and developing professional production skills to produce diverse creative pieces. A large portion of this class is also working in teams and navigating roles such as art director, which I participated in.

OVERVIEW

Beats by Dre is a popular brand of headphones known for their stylish appearance and high quality sound. As a class we were tasked with choosing a on-shelf product based on a given audience. My group chose neurodivergent athletes as our audience which led to our campaign around Beats headphones. Through research we found that a common struggle of neurodivergent people is noise sensitivity which in an athletic atmosphere is quite common. Why we chose this headphone brand is because of their noise canceling properties.  With Beats, athletes will be able to choose the sound, if any at all, that fits them best.

REFLECTION

Throughout this project I strengthened my Adobe Photoshop and my Adobe PremierePro skills. I also experimented with AI and AI correction using Adobe Illustrator. The subject in the billboard was curated with Canva AI Image Generator with the prompt "Male athlete, sitting, football" and corrected with Illustrator for the areas out of place such as the sleeve on his right arm. Adobe Illustrator's AI was also used to create the rainbow infinity symbol which represents the neurodivergent community.
